I Introduction

Finance is an important part of modern economy. Finance plays a key role in resource allocation. Monetary and financial policies are an important lever for a country to regulate its economy. The operation of financial markets is related to the stability and efficiency of a country's economic development and affects national economic security. The objective situation of economic and financial globalization and the practice of domestic financial reform and development have put forward new requirements for China's financial higher education and professional personnel training.

Finance majors focus on all kinds of financial activities in the market economy. These financial activities mainly include currency circulation and credit activities, financial market operation and investment and financing decisions, financial product pricing and risk management, financial institution management, financial macro-control, etc. Finance major belongs to the discipline of economics, and its professional knowledge involves mathematics, psychology, law, management, information technology and other fields.

The finance major of Hebei University, formerly known as the finance major of the Department of Economics, was founded in 1972. In 1986, it obtained the qualification of training master's degree students in monetary banking. In 1986, 1987 and 1988, it trained four master's degree students for three consecutive years. In 1999, the undergraduate major in finance enrolled students independently. In 2000, it was granted the right to master's degree in finance. Enrollment began in 2002. The research direction of "Comparison of Financial Systems and Policies between China and Foreign Countries" was set up in the World Economics Doctoral Program approved in 2003. Taking the advantages of comprehensive universities, relying on the strong economics and management disciplines of the School of Economics and the School of Management, the finance major trains senior application-oriented financial talents with higher operation skills and understanding management who can work in both the financial industry and industrial and commercial enterprises, so as to meet the needs of China's opening up to the outside world. There are excellent teaching staff for basic courses and professional teachers characterized by “double high and one low” (high professional title, high educational background and low age) in finance. It adopts “open” teaching and “practical” personnel training mode, supplemented by modern teaching methods and professional laboratory teaching, basically achieving the teaching goal of “broad caliber, thick foundation".

II Training objectives

The training of talents majoring in finance is based on the reality of China's financial reform and development, facing the process of financial globalization, and training financial talents with thick foundation, broad caliber, compound and internationalization. Through deepening the teaching reform and improving the level of running schools, we can meet the diversified and multi-level needs of social and economic development for financial talents. This major mainly trains students with solid economic theoretical foundation, mathematical analysis foundation, English application foundation, good moral quality, high comprehensive quality, innovative consciousness, market consciousness, legal consciousness and team spirit, systematically mastering financial professional knowledge and related skills, so as to meet the general requirements of employing people in financial institutions, government departments, enterprises and institutions, or having the qualifications to continue studying for higher-level degrees (or engaging in academic research) in educational and scientific research institutions at home and abroad. This major focuses on the training of applied talents. Graduates can engage in comprehensive counter business and personal financial management business in commercial banks, securities underwriting and securities trading in securities companies, project financing, asset restructuring, mergers and acquisitions in investment companies, investment and financing analysis, capital operation and other related businesses in industrial and commercial enterprises.

III Cultivation requirements

Through learning the basic theories and knowledge of finance and basic training in related businesses, they have the basic ability to work in the financial field. Graduates should have the following knowledge and abilities:

1. Knowledge Requirements

(1)Professional knowledge

Firmly grasp the basic knowledge, theory and skills of this major. We should not only master the basic principles of economics and management, but also fully understand the frontier of financial theory and the current situation of practical development, and be familiar with the basic process of financial activities.

(2) Instrumental knowledge

Proficient in a foreign language, with strong foreign language reading, listening, speaking, writing and translation skills; Proficient in using computers to engage in business work; Proficient in using modern information management technology for professional literature retrieval, data processing, model design, etc. Proficient in using professional databases to write professional papers and research reports.

(3) Knowledge of other related fields

Finance professionals should also understand the knowledge of other related fields and form a balanced knowledge structure with humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, engineering and technological sciences.

2. Quality Requirements

(1) Ideological and moral quality

Efforts should be made to study Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and establish the common ideal and firm belief of taking the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics and realizing national prosperity under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.

Abide by the Constitution, laws and regulations, and citizens' moral standards. Abide by the "Code of Conduct for Students for College students" and the school management system. They should have good moral quality and civilized habits.

Advocate socialist core values, establish a sense of honesty, fulfill the commitment and keep the promise, and unify knowing and doing. Cultivate good professional conduct and professional ethics, and have a sense of social responsibility and humanistic care.

(2) Physical and mental quality

They should have a healthy body and reach the standards of physical training. They should have good psychological quality, strong self-control and self-regulation ability.

(3) Scientific and cultural quality

Certain scientific knowledge and scientific literacy should be cultivated. Have certain literary, artistic accomplishment and appreciation ability. Have a certain understanding of traditional culture and history.

(4) Professional quality

Have financial professional thinking and strong discipline awareness. Familiar with the national financial guidelines, policies, laws and regulations, and understand the financial development trends at home and abroad.

3. Capacity Requirements

(1) Ability to acquire knowledge

Able to master effective learning methods and take the initiative to receive lifelong education. They can apply modern scientific and technological means for autonomous learning. Adapt to the objective situation of rapid development of financial theory and practice and keep pace with the times.

(2) Practical application ability

Able to flexibly apply the professional knowledge mastered in financial practice. They can screen, sort out and process all kinds of financial information at home and abroad, so as to provide countermeasures and suggestions for the government, enterprises, financial institutions and other departments to solve practical problems. Able to use professional theoretical knowledge and modern economic research methods, with certain scientific research ability.

(3) Innovation and entrepreneurship ability

They should not only have innovative consciousness, but also have innovative ability and entrepreneurial ability. They can grasp the trend of financial development, apply what you have learned into practical use, and creatively solve practical financial problems. Have professional sensitivity, dare to innovate in the fierce market competition and international competition, and be good at innovation.

(4) Other abilities

Good Chinese writing skills; Have certain oral and written expression skills, communication skills, organization and coordination skills, team cooperation skills, and other abilities necessary to adapt to changes in the financial market.

IV Core Courses

The core courses of this major include commercial bank management, intermediate financial accounting, corporate finance, international finance, insurance, investment and financial engineering.

V. Standard Duration: four years. 

Students can shorten or extend their years of study according to their own circumstances, and the duration of their studies is three to six years.

General elective theory course

General requirements

It includes humanities and arts (including art-based elective courses), social sciences and behavioral sciences, natural sciences and modern science and technology, biological sciences and medicine, employment and entrepreneurship and national defense education (including employment guidance, entrepreneurial education limited elective courses, as well as listening, speaking, reading, writing and other special skills courses), comprehensive courses (experiments).
